I inherited a gold, Rolex - Oyster Perpetual from my grandfather and was trying to find out what type of band it would have had originally. The serial #36699, I believe would have dated it around 1929-1930 (although I don't think my grandmother gave it to my grandfather until the late 50's or early 60's). I was told there should be a model # on the back or between the lugs at the 12 position, but all I find is the inscription "BREVET" followed by a cross. It currently has a stretchable, gold metal band on it, but as I stated, I'd like to put a band on it that would have been similar to what it would have had when it was first sold. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
