Maybe I am just lucky. Have you tried a Movado Vizio Quartz (tungsten carbide bezel and date at 3). I bought one new (but at a substantial discount) about 5 months ago. I wear it everyday and it keeps great time. I have not recorded any scratches on the crystal nor on the bezel, despite my usual knocks. I thoroughly enjoy the watch. I know some people do not consider a quartz a true watch ("it has no soul") but I prefer wearing it daily over my other watches. The one minor drawback is that the watch is highly polished and presents an interesting exercise in cleaning.
