Take the watch to any qualified watchmaker and they can set it straight. It doesn't make any sense if the watch has never been worked on though. It sounds like the hour hand is not on the watch correctly...actually neither of the hands are lined up properly. The trick would be to as you approached 5:30 remove the hands and slowly rotate the set mechanism...then just after the calendar flipped place the hour and minute hands at the 12 position. It would be very close at that point. There is likely nothing wrong with the watch...hope this helps.
