beyond robbing someone of a just reward for inventiveness. Imagine if everything were counterfeit--copied from a few originals. This would apply to music, literature, design, software, toys, clothing, cars, appliances, instruments, buildings, food, etc. Eventually there would be no desire to invent--or even a need.

At first you might applaud this as a blow against materialism, but that would not be the case. It would just be a blow against creativity and the death of culture.

Suppose this happened 10 years ago. We would not be communicating via Internet. Suppose this happened 100 years ago. We would not be communicating very readily at all. Suppose this happened 1000 years ago. We would be in isolated family units, farms, pastures, woods, a few villages, and very few cities. Care to go back another 2000 years?

Cheers.

Robin
