Oyster Date in an Oysterquartz case

My wife gave me a ss Oyster Perpetual Date in 1980 (mechanical movement). The case and bracelet is identical to the electronic Oysterquartz watches. The jewlers who have cleaned the watch have all said that it is very unusual. I have never seen it in any Rolex catelog. does anyone have any information on this watch. The model number is 1530 and the serial is 4092698. This is a steel watch. Thanks.
