Hi,
Not an expert by any means ,but I have owned my rolex sub,two tone blue dial,for 10 years.I was in the swimming pool biz for most of that time and watch has been under water many many times,and never a problem. It is now in for its first service,been 4 weeks and I do miss it,the only thing that was necessary was the normal service and a blue insert for the bezel. Just be sure the crown is screwed down tight and your watch will be fine. May I ask which "dealer" told you not to put it in water?........... Dave K
