If you ever wanted or needed to sell it...the sub would likely go very quickly but you would have to wait on a buyer for the Blancpain. Maybe not an issue for you now, but one never knows what might come up. I think the Blancpain is a fabulous looking watch and I let my mind wander every time I see it. I am sure that it is as mechanically wonderful as its appearance would lead one to believe, the company seems to have a great reputation that is long lived. As far as it being better....well how much better is there really? The Submariner is a pretty darned incredible little pacakge. I will admit that there are likely a better watches in some respects than a Rolex but as far as mechanicals go, that Submariner is extremely dependable and with regular service will last a lifetime. I mean, a Patek is a wonderful machine but if you fall down...it could break. Not that I don't want one of those...I certainly would like one. On the other hand, I have a friend who was a drummer most of his life, who bought a new Sub in 1965 a 5513. He played 7 nights a week in an r&b/rock club. He didn't like working with the watch on so he used to literally toss it into his trap tray behind him every set...this went on for years. He sold the watch in around 1982 and it was still working great. It had been serviced regularly during its entire life. He paid $150.00 for it and sold it for a great deal more than that. I will also add that service from the factory in Geneva with regards to Rolex is about as good as you can get! The domestic service centers are pretty darn good as well. If you really want a GMT but like your Rolex, you might get a GMT Master II with a black bezel and black dial, which would be very similar in appearance but have the features you seek...Someone would likely trade you as the GMT II is maybe a bit less popular than the Sub. Or as you said...keep the Sub and buy a lesser GMT style watch... Just my two cents...I don't blame you at all for wanting the Blancpain though...it is a great looking watch.

T.
