I've heard that only 156 were made; it doesn't make sense that 1000 were made. Comex is a relatively small company, and they certainly wouldn't have had need for 1000 watches. Especially considering that they also used other model submariners like the 1680, 16800, and the seadwellers. The caseback being stamped 5513 is normal; it would be a problem if it was stamped 5514, as on the original 5514's, they used 5513 casebacks.
