New Speedmaster owner (long post)

I just purchased an Omega Speedmaster Professional from Ebay in the past month. The only way I'd feel comfortable wearing this watch is to have it overhauled just for peace of mind. I was a little reluctant to send it in for service for fear of the jeweler telling me it was not authentic since I thought the back of the watch kind of gave me an uncomfortable feeling. It does not look like the majority of Moon Watch backs. It has the engraving stating that it is flight qualified by Nasa etc, etc. but it did not have the speedmaster coin thing in the center. Are there two versions of the Moon Watch back?

I love this watch and if it's not authentic I think that my heart would be broken. I've received the estimate for the overhaul and the jeweler mentioned nothing of its authenticity.

Also, I ended up paying the jeweler 205 dollars to have it overhauled, a new bezel installed (which I supplied, a new Moon Watch back (with the speedmaster coin, which I also supplied), the case polished, and the crystal polished. Is this a fair price?

Speaking of a new bezel, the one I had ordered, also from ebay, seems a little different than the one on the watch origianally. The print on it seems a little smaller, just by a fraction of a mm and there is an accent mark above the 'e' in the word tachymetre. Once, again its authenticity is very important to me as I do not want any non original Omega parts on the watch at all. Are there different versions of this bezel? Could this part not be correct for a 1970's vintage watch?

I am beginning to feel that I am becoming the owner of a "Frankensteinized" Omega Speedmaster Professional.

Sorry for the long posting but any information would be greatly appreciated by this long time watch lover and first time Omega owner. My first expensive watch purchase.

Thanks in advance,
Jay Kang
