Rolex Air King-date

I was given s/hand Air King as gift,bought from reputable jeweller. But it came without papers; Jeweller is supposed to be , or has contacted Rolex with the model No. to check it is not stolen.
PROBLEM : The "glass" seems to be plastic, i.e. it is easily marked by the blade of a mini-scewdriver, and when tapped does not sound the same as glass in other watches I know which have true mineral glass.
Description : Rolex Air King-date , Grey/Black face, Steel,
MODEL No.5700 , CASE No.3328719.
Any comments on "glass" , age , authenticity , etc. ???
