for taking the time to write the post, I guess the real question than to the individual, is what do I (the individual) perceive as value. I have an uncle who has a 21 bedroom, 19 bathroom house and yet wont spend more than $100 on a watch, meanwhile I have a friend who has two watches worth over $30k and drives a 1984 honda accord, they both obviously have a different appreciation on watches. I'm thinking of starting a vintage collection or perhaps start looking at movements and craftsmanship, instead of looking on a name on the watch (if I did that for Movado, I wouldnt of had so many problems with them!).
