Itīs true about the atomic watch one can get for $ 50. I must say I like quartz over automatic, because I like a watch that gains and loses no more than 2 min. every 6 mounth. But guess what. A quartz gain or loses only 12 sec. max and an atauto loses about 6 - 12 minuts in 6 mounths. Besides maintaing: Imagine you paid $ 50,000 for a complicated movement in a PP or IWC watch. Then every 5 yeards when you had to get it overhaul, think about the cost, if they have to take every whell apart. Even the ones that change the year or leapyear in such a watch. I think they do so, and that is very costly and it is bad made regardings to userfriendlyness. If the watch contains 400 different parts, then maybe only 100 needs to be taking apart duing an overhaul, to keep it very accurate. But donīt think thatīs the way it is. No, no they will disassamle the whole thing and give you a bill of $ 1,500 for a maintaing every 5 year. Autos are not that userfriendly as a quartz :)
