Finally went to the jewerly store (authoriozed rolex dealer) and bought the 2001 president(30% heavier) w/roman numerals for 30% off retail and he gave me $1500.00 for the datejust. Also, paid $250.00 for one additional link.

Based upon what I have read - this seems like a very good discount. I know I could probably get more for the trade in, but I look at it, as less hassle doing it this way.
