Hi Thomas and all If you want to be sure for 100% of the production date of your Rolex watch you have to write a kind letter to Rolex Geneve with the ref.no and the serial no and ask them to look in their files for the production date of your watch Adress is : MONTERS ROLEX SA 3-7 RUE FRANCOIS-DUSSAUD 1211 GENEVE 24 SUISSE Paul PS the 6536 sub was sold from 1956 till 1961 so yours could be of 1955 but sold in 1956 or 1957 My 6202 was manifactured in 1953 and it was for the first time seen in 1954 in Bazel watch show
