Interestingly enough, an Omega GMT I purchased last year did the exact same thing! After several frustrating trips to the jewellers, I traded it in for a Rolex GMT Master II. While I miss the far superior build quality and heft of the Omega, I must say that mechanically the Rolex has never exhibited any of the Omega's timing quirks whatsoever. By the way, the authorized Omega service person had no idea what was causing the problem.
