White sweep hand on my 6610 Explorer? by Ken Morgan Date: 03/21/2002, 20:57:48 In response to: |
I have a Rolex Explorer 6610 that I inherited from my Grandfather many years ago. It is from the last part of 1957, and as far as I know is completely original. The sweep hand on this watch is white, with the luminescent circle near the tip. All of the other 6610's that I have seen have a gold toned sweep hand, which is the same color as both the hour and minute hands on my watch. Did Rolex use different colors on the sweep hands on this model? Or did this watch perhaps get a replacement sweep hand at some point (it would have had to have been sometime during the 1960's, as I know for sure that the watch sat dormant since then). Thanks! |
