my experience is maybe worth recounting. 1. Some Submariners definitely do NOT have unidirectional bezels. I've had a number of 5513s including one fresh from a complete Rolex overhaul and they all had bezels which turned both ways. This was probably deliberate as the bezels were all stiff --- to turn them it helps if you push down at the same time. 2. All the sapphire glass models I have had also had uni-directional bezels. 3. I have had broken bezels which turned both ways, but these were noticably easier to turn than the 5513 versions. Hope this is some use, Kind regards, Haywood Milton.
