My nicest watch (which I had for 35 years) was a 6541 with lightning bolt second hand. Just sold it for an incredible amount of money !
The watch costed 670 dutch guilders in 1966 (about 250 usd) and was a genuine shopdaughter (only 400 made).
I got the watch after winning a TV quiz in holland with subject:
Ian Fleming and James Bond. The price was 1000 gulders (then about 2 months salary) the watch was absolutely top of the bill.
Read my story about it on the Milgauss site.
The watch just never broke and I did everything with including diving to 40 metres several times. I flew with it, pulled 7 + G's
I passed out but the Milgauss just ticked on.
I now have a Submariner (new) it costed me 7070 guilders (2800 usd)
and I have a bundle left to buy me a sportscar or some such.
Thanks to the Rolex company and Mr. Ian Fleming thank you thank you !
