Good morning, Since you're having a bit of a 5512 festival here, I've posted you here my Submariner 5512 from 1959 ( the first year of production ). This watch has recently been confirmed in writing by Rolex themselves as a fixed bar, military issue 5512. It has a 1530 movement. The dial is probably a military redial ( which thankfully made a lot of people doubt its military credentials ) but this is currently with Rolex in Geneva for further historical research. The dial has also been seen in contemporary military A6538 Submariners from 1957 / 1959 so I suspect the dials were put in when the watches were issued. Incidentally, some reference books refer to both a 1530 and a 1530a calibre, presumably denoting the non-chronometer and later chronometer versions respectively. Kind regards, Haywood Milton,
