GMT Master Bezel Colors

I have a GMT Master (stainless steel) which I purchased new in 1974.
The colors (blue and red) of the bezel seem to be of a different shade from all the other GMT Masters I have seen in Rolex stores since. On my watch, the blue on the bezel is a dark navy blue and a deep red (although that has faded somewhat over the years). However, on all the other SS GMT models I have seen and even on the new GMT models, the blue seem to be lighter and brighter, almost like a deep sky blue and the red is a bright red.

I was wondering if Rolex produced the bexels in different color shades suring the 1970's. The model numbr of my watch is #1675, and the serial number is 3022518.

Also, I would like to touch upon the subject of reliability. In the 28 years I have had this watch, it has been serviced 3 times and all 3 times for the same problem - the crown became detached from the watch.
This happened in 1977, 1985, and again last year. Each time, it cost more and more to fix. Aside from that, the watch never failed me. I have mentioned this problem to friends who also own Rolexes and they all tell me that this is a common problem with Rolex, like an Archilles Heel. What are you thought on this?

Tks
