I recntly purchased a Vintage Universal Geneve WAtch serial number 200101-1594714.This watch is a mystery to me because instead of having the word automatic or self winding, {it is a automatic watch}it has the word Monodatic written on it.I've looked in dictionaries but no seems to know what the word MONODATIC means.I must say that this watch has a Geneve Seal on the inside,I can see the Jewels in the watch but theres nothing listing the jewels.IT says on the inside Swiss Universal 138c Geneve.On the dial the word Universal Geneve, plus the word Swiss.Can somebody help me solve this mystery.What does Monodatic means,and especially in i'ts relationship to this watch.And can you tell me why the number of jewels are not listed even though i can clearly see them when i open the watch?Any info would be greatly appreciated.
