Information request on early Rolex Oysterquartz

Hello,

I recently bought a used Rolex Oysterquartz, model # 17000.
It came with an experts certificate, confirming that this watch is genuine.

According to my watchs serial-# (54850xx) it is manufactured in eary 1978. Because Rolex launched the Oysterquartz-models in this year, i think it is one of the first oysterquartz-watches produced.

There is one point I wonder about: it seems to be no chronometer.
On the dial BELOW the hands is only written: "Oysterquartz"; ("Rolex" and "Datejust" above the hands).

But in an early Oysterquartz-booklet (from 05/1979) Rolex writes "all Oysterquartz-models are chronometers".

Does anybody know, if there were at first some oysterquartz-models without chronometer-status?
And if, how many where produced?

Thanks, Daniel
