I was in NYC last month and visited Phillips Auction House because they were showing many fine timepieces for their Nov-12 Geneva Auction. There was a Patek Philippe Ref#1591 perpetual calendar with moonphase indirect center second and screw back in excellent condition. They claimed maybe only 2 examples were made. Estimated value at 480,000 to 600,000 SFR (300,000-400,000 USD). I do not know why that this watch was not drawing too much attention. I kindly asked the assistant to let me examine the watch and even put it on my wrist for about 10 seconds. GREAT WATCH !!

The hammer price was 3,083,500.00 SFR (approx 1,891,717.00 USD) at approx 2:00PM on Nov-12 Geneva Time for this watch. A world record for a vintage wrist timepiece. I felt I was so lucky that I was able to wear it for 10 seconds. If you want to check out the watch, you can find more info @ www.phillips-auctions.com. The lot no. is 155. I am also very happy to see that our little niche can generate such a big excitement in the world. I hope you'll like this watch as much as I did.
